Earth has had natural climate fluctuations for milenia, however human activity has increased the amount of CO2 that enters the atmosphere by 48% since the industrial revolution, in 1760, according to NASA.
The burning of fossil fuels is main contributor to Climate Change. When they are burned they release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere which, as a toxic gas, creates air pollution and contributes to climate change.
According to the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) humans are less than 10 away from reaching the point when climate change is irreversible. In that amount of time the world’s population needs to reduce their carbon emissions by at least 50%. That number does not include critical aspects such as equity, feedback loops, and tipping points. We don't have much time until 2031 so we need to start stepping up and taking action for our planet now!
You can help by educating yourself, and your community about these pressing matters, taking a stand in climate marches and protests, writing to your local government representatives, and encouraging others to do the same. You are the future and it's time to step up and speak out. So believe in yourself and if enough people join the fight we CAN make a difference.
